The Institute reimagines policymaking from the perspective of social movements, bringing those most impacted by crisis and conflict into the policy development process. The Institute serves as a hub for cross-sectoral, cross-movement, and transnational organizing, research, and scholarship. It works to advance the cutting edge of rights-based approaches to national and international law and policy, including peace and transitional justice processes, reconstruction, and human rights mechanisms. Leymah Gbowee, its Founding Executive Director, convene a public panel of global thought leaders to explore transformative peace and possibilities for transnational movement building and solidarity.

W. Haywood Burns Chair Lecture Series: The Revolution Will Not Be Litigated Book Talk Panel

Haywood Burns Chair in Human and Civil Rights, leads a discussion with lawyers and activists from to the book, The Revolution Will Not Be Litigated, a collection of stories about the complex dance between legal reform and social change.
